MRF Design Challenges with the city of Lexington
The city of Lexington, Ky., had outgrown its existing material recovery facility (MRF). The 8-ton-per-hour system required 10- to 12-hour shifts five days per week, says James Carter, MRF supervisor. "Our weekly recycling collections were approaching 500 tons. Overtime became mandatory," he says.
