MACHINEX UNVEILS MIND™ AT IFAT 2026: A UNIFIED AI FOR SYSTEM-WIDE RECYCLING PERFORMANCE
MUNICH, May 4th, 2026 —Machinex officially unveils MIND™, its new artificial intelligence platform at IFAT Munich 2026 (Hall B5, Booth 335), bringing system-wide intelligence to modern sorting operations through real-time decision-making, system optimization, and advanced reporting.
From Automation to System-Wide Intelligence
Building on decades of expertise in high-performance recycling systems, MIND™ marks a shift from standalone equipment to a unified, intelligent approach. Purpose-built for the harsh realities of the waste and recycling environment, MIND™ delivers intelligence where it matters most: material analysis, real-time decision-making, system-wide optimization, and advanced reporting.
“The future of recycling isn’t just automation, it’s intelligent systems. For years, intelligence has been applied to one machine at a time. With MIND™, we’re extending that intelligence across multiple units into a unified system, moving beyond individual equipment,” said Chris Hawn, CEO of Machinex Technologies. “It gives operators the control and insight needed to manage complexity, improve performance, and make smarter decisions in real time.”
A Unified AI for Smarter Sorting
MIND™ combines computer vision, machine learning, and real-time decision-making to detect and classify materials, transform insights into actions, and consistently improve system performance. Operating as a closed-loop intelligence system, it enables MRFs to adapt to evolving material streams while maintaining efficiency and consistency.
As part of this launch, Machinex is also introducing MIND AirPulse™, a pneumatic sorting equipment powered by MIND™, the Machinex-engineered AI. This AI-driven pneumatic separator is designed for recovery and advanced QC. It translates intelligent decisions into precise, high-speed sorting actions exceeding 20x the sorting rate of a manual sorter, enhancing system responsiveness and accuracy.
MIND™ is integrated across the Machinex AI-powered equipment family, including the SamurAI® sorting robot, Hyspec MIND™ AI-enhanced optical sorter, MIND AirPulse™, and MIND Vision™.
Built for the Demands of Modern Recycling
As recycling operations face increasing complexity, higher purity requirements, and growing demands for traceability and compliance, MIND™ provides operators with the tools to stay ahead, delivering greater control, improved efficiency, and actionable insights across the entire system.
“Everything we do starts with understanding our customers’ reality and how we can help them achieve their recycling goals,” declares Pierre Paré, President and owner of Machinex Group. “MIND™ brings together the legacy of 55 years of innovation into a single intelligent platform designed to simplify operations and improve performance. It reinforces our commitment to deliver reliable performance and to stand alongside our customers as a partner they can trust.” Paré concludes.
Developed, deployed, and proven in operating facilities since 2019, MIND™ brings together years of applied AI innovation under one unified platform, reflecting Machinex’s long-term, customer-focused approach to technology development.
