MACHINEX TRANSFORMS THE DAILY LIFE OF ITS EMPLOYEES: WELCOME TO “LES PETITS M” DAYCARE

Plessisville, June 21, 2024 – Machinex is proud to announce the official opening of its new private subsidized daycare, “Les Petits M”. The inauguration took place on June 20th at its facility in Plessisville. With a capacity of 85 children, this daycare aims to support the daily lives of parents employed by Machinex and address the demand for daycare spots in the Plessisville community and its surroundings. The facility includes a triple nursery (5-18 months), six multi-age groups (18-48 months), and two preschool groups (48-60 months).

Driven by its mission ”To Design Solutions for a Sustainable Tomorrow” and in response to the scarcity of daycare places for its employees, Machinex invested $4.3 million in this project. The objective is to simplify the work-life balance for its employees with young children.

Kassandra Verville, Human Resources Advisor at Machinex for the past 10 years and mother of two young children shares her experience: “This project has a major impact on my daily life as a parent and an employee of Machinex. Among other benefits, the daycare’s opening hours are adapted to my work schedule, and the proximity of the facility to my workplace saves valuable time. The daycare’s educational program brings me peace of mind, knowing that my children are stimulated in their motor and cognitive development according to their age group. After ten years of understanding Machinex’s values and trusting my employer, knowing that this vision is reflected in the facility that cares for my children reassures me completely.”

Pierre Paré, CEO of Machinex, adds: ”Family is a fundamental value at Machinex. That’s why we decided to launch this daycare project for our employees. This significantly relieves our families by providing a healthy developmental space for their children, close to their workplace.”

This project adheres to Machinex’s mission. Mr. Paré explains: ”In the recycling world, we follow the ‘3 R’s’ – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. For sustainable and healthy development in Quebec, I believe that looking ahead, our mission expands towards the ‘3 E’s’ – Education, Energy, and Economy, aiming to care for the Environment. Therefore, at Machinex, alongside our core recycling activities, Les Petits M daycare is another way for us to contribute to sustainable development.

Suzanne Roy, Minister of Family, Minister responsible for the Montérégie region, and Member of Parliament for Verchères, states, ”Les Petits M daycare is a significant addition for Machinex and its employees. Knowing their children are in the care of qualified and caring individuals, in a quality environment, is invaluable. I commend Mr. Paré’s commitment to the well-being of employees and their families and wish wonderful moments to the children of Les Petits M and all staff.”

The new facility features nine group rooms, a large multifunctional room, an industrial kitchen, an educational room, and a child development support space. Designed down to the smallest details, the daycare provides a soothing and warm environment with decor made from natural materials like wood, inspiring creativity, serenity, and kindness.

The daycare’s active pedagogical approach is based on imitation, repetition of games, and respect for each child’s pace, creating a comprehensive educational program tailored to all ages. Ecological values are integrated through daily activities and actions, with the academic program emphasizing a nature-based approach that encourages children to spend ample time outdoors and use nature as a learning tool. The outdoor courtyard, a key element of the facility’s design, has been carefully planned to complement this pedagogical approach perfectly.
